Wind Energy Project in Harapanahalli, Karnataka

CLP Wind Farms (India) Private Limited has implemented a wind power project of capacity 39.6 MW comprising of 24 numbers of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), each with rated capacity of 1.65 MW. The project is located in Harapanahalli taluk of Karnataka state. It is a greenfield project and electricity generated by this wind farm will be supplied to distribution licences. In the absence of Project activity, quantity of the electricity that would be delivered by the Project activity to the Southern grid would be sourced from the existing grid-connected power plants and future capacity additions to meet the growing electricity requirements. Hence, generation mix of Southern grid is considered as the baseline scenario. The first WTG under this project has stated commissioning since Jan 21, 2011 and has been under operation since then except for regular shutdowns considering O&M requirements. The project was registered at UNFCCC (# 6390) on 22-June-2012.
