Carbon Offset through Methane Reduction: Sustainable Solutions for Climate Change - Zerocarbon

Description

R-12 Refrigerant Recovery and Destruction Initiative | ZERO Carbon One - Tradewater - Thailand 4

At ZERO Carbon One, we are spearheading the environmentally responsible recovery and destruction of R-12 refrigerants, contributing to the global efforts of ozone layer protection and climate change mitigation. This initiative is crucial in the zero-carbon movement, focusing on the safe aggregation and processing of refrigerant materials in full compliance with the Montreal Protocol. Advanced Destruction Technology In collaboration with Tradewater and utilizing the state-of-the-art facilities of A-Gas, our initiative implements the plasma arc [Plascon] destruction technology. This advanced system incinerates hazardous wastes, including R-12 refrigerants, at over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit, achieving an impressive 99.99% destruction efficiency. Comprehensive Environmental Impact The process has undergone stringent verification to meet the American Carbon Registry’s (ACR) standards, with a materiality threshold of ±5% for the project's emissions reductions or enhancements. Our project plan encapsulates the net positive environmental impacts, centered on preventing any future release of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) into our atmosphere, thereby ensuring no adverse effects on the community or environment. Commitment to Sustainability Goals With proper environmental permits in place for both Tradewater and A-Gas, our project aligns with critical Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as: SDG #9: Encouraging resilient infrastructure and fostering innovation for sustainable industry. SDG #12: Promoting responsible consumption and production for environmental stewardship. SDG #13: Urgent action to combat climate change and its pervasive impacts. The R-12 Refrigerant Recovery and Destruction Initiative is a testament to ZERO Carbon One's dedication to implementing sustainable practices for a greener planet.
