Zero Carbon - Tradewater ODS Destruction Initiative - US ODS #3 (ACR 875)

Zero Carbon ODS Destruction Initiative | ZERO Carbon One At ZERO Carbon One, our unwavering commitment to a zero-carbon future is embodied in our latest initiative: the responsible and irreversible destruction of harmful ozone-depleting substances (ODS), including R-11, R-12, R-113, R-114, R-115, and R-22. Recovered from HVAC systems, refrigeration units, or reclaimed from existing stockpiles, these substances, once prevalent in our atmosphere, are now being systematically dismantled to prevent further environmental degradation. Commitment to Environmental Integrity In collaboration with Tradewater and utilizing the cutting-edge facilities of A-Gas, we employ a state-of-the-art plasma arc [Plascon] destruction unit. This advanced technology incinerates hazardous wastes, including refrigerants, at scorching temperatures above 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. The result is a remarkable 99.99% destruction efficiency, ensuring these ODS will never contribute to atmospheric pollution. Rigorous Verification and Compliance The efficacy of our project has been meticulously verified against the American Carbon Registry’s (ACR) stringent materiality threshold, confirming that every step we take towards emission reduction meets or exceeds industry standards. Located within the United States, our certified facility in Bowling Green, Ohio (GPS: 41.39176885512956, -83.671276989498), boasts a TEAP certification for ODS destruction, aligning with the highest benchmarks for operational excellence. Positive Impact and Sustainability Goals Our project doesn't just stop at destruction. We ensure that the environmental impact is net positive, aligning with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (#9); Responsible Consumption and Production (#12); and, most importantly, Climate Action (#13). By eradicating the potential for future ODS leakage, ZERO Carbon One sets a precedent for responsible environmental stewardship. Transparent and Responsible Practices Both Tradewater and A-Gas operate with full environmental permits, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and adherence to regulatory standards. The ZERO Carbon One project plan is a testament to our dedication to sustainable practices and our contribution to global zero-carbon initiatives.
